One QR. The rule that decided — on screen

The guard does not have to remember who goes where. They scan the QR and see the verdict together with the rule that produced it. Every pass is a line in the log: who, where, when, who scanned.

Austria Center Vienna: zones, spots within them and access rules
01

The venue as zones and spots

A location splits into zones with their own access boundaries: the conference area, foyers, the business lounge, the speakers’ room. Inside a zone there are spots: halls and booths the programme is bound to.

  • A zone is the boundary where a guard with a scanner stands
  • Spots within a zone share its access boundary
  • A zone without a rule is open to everyone confirmed

Zone rule → session rule → personal override

Who may enter a zone is set by a rule: categories × countries × badge groups. A session can have its own rule. And one person can be given more than the rest of their category.

  • The rule closest to the person decides: an override beats a session
  • Badge groups are ready-made sets of access
  • Changed a rule in the console — security already knows

Aditum Guard: the verdict and the rule on screen

The guard scans the QR from a badge, an email or Wallet. On screen — “Allowed” or “Denied”, the person with a photo, and the rule that fired. Nothing to argue with.

  • App sign-in is by device code, no accounts
  • As many devices as there are gates
  • “Entry” and “exit” modes to count people in a zone
04

The pass log: a line for every scan

Who, where, when, entry or exit, the result, which rule decided, which guard and which device. The log is append-only.

  • Attendance by day — from the same passes
  • How many people are in a zone right now
  • An access-check API — for your turnstiles
